This policy is aimed at improving the local environments through development and increased utilization of suppliers, manufacturing entities, and personnel from within the local communities and environments in which we operate, by focussing on increasing employment opportunities and productivity objectives of local companies and entrepreneurs.
The core driver of the local operating model is the empowerment of local companies and entrepreneurs that are keen on developing and growing businesses in the engineering and professional services sectors of the market.

Procurement and Supplier Development:
CITRINE encourages the growth & expansion of Exempted Micro Enterprises & start-ups through procurement & support mechanisms. The emphasis being on black owned & black woman owned businesses as well as on investing resources into small, micro and new suppliers who currently (or can through development) provide goods and services to CITRINE International and our Sub-Contractors.CITRINE will also advance Supplier Development in South Africa with its policy of recognising relatively small, unknown and untrained/undeveloped companies and individuals which may supply services or equipment.
CITRINE will foster a strategy aimed at developing local suppliers by utilizing local suppliers/companies, sub-contractors, etc., from within the project community, region, district, or country - small black owned companies.
Localisation Policy
CITRINE recognises that Localisation is an important policy tool for industrial development in South Africa that will assist in growing the economy and the manufacturing sector.CITRINE has a policy that is aimed at broadening the capacity of the local industrial and manufacturing sector by sourcing products that are locally made. CITRINE will support the enterprises that are producing these products in our own economy and the organization understands that this will multiply the creation and support of jobs and employment opportunities.
Additionally, CITRINE’s Localisation strategy will also focus on job creation and job retention for the local labour force, focusing on unskilled and semi-skilled workers as well as the youth. This policy which will look at the utilization of the workforce and trained personnel from local communities to staff projects, also goes together with a policy aimed at skills development.
CITRINE commits to the provision of skills and workplace experience to formerly disadvantaged minority groups in South Africa as well as the disabled, women and youth, to increase the opportunity for them to be employable within the industry in the future. Employees and Locals within the supply chain will be trained with the end goal of qualifying within their specific trade. Additionally, where possible CITRINE will provide other opportunities to the youth by offering bursaries as part of the development programme within the project location.

POLICY EXECUTION
To achieve this, the Company will:- Provide the leadership and resources for the implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of this policy in accordance to ISO 9001:2008.
- Ensures that all from work process are identified and adequately controlled through the QMS Develops
- Work with clients to minimize negative and maximize positive impacts from their operations.
- Communicate the Quality Policy to all employees and relevant stakeholders
- Consult with our clients, suppliers, professional and legislative bodies to promote continual improvement.
- Promote the role of leadership and the involvement of all personnel in the planning and operations of the Quality Management System.
RESPONSIBILITY

Scope
This policy applies to the Management, employees, contractors, sub-contractors and labour broker employees performing work for on or behalf of CITRINE International on premises owned, rented or otherwise occupied by the organization.Vision

CITRINE International (Pty) Ltd subscribes to the following principles and values for Health, Safety and Environmental Management:- CITRINE is committed to reducing our environmental impact through various recycling initiatives.
- CITRINE pledges that it provides a healthy, secure and safe working environment.
- CITRINE is committed to continuous improvement in both our performance and management of health and safety and will deliver this through our Policy Execution Model.
- Where laws and regulations do not provide adequate controls, CITRINE International shall develop our own standards to adapt to the situation.
- All environmental, health and safety policies and programs are communicated to our employees and stakeholders.
- The SHE Management Plan is based on a risk management process that includes hazard identification, risk assessment, risk management techniques and risk control.
- Employees will act responsibly taking due care of their own health and safety as well as the health and safety of others and that of the environment.
Policy Statements
CITRINE International communicates all SHE policies and programs to all employees and stakeholders and ensures implementation through our generated standards and procedures.- All employees shall comply with the required legislated duties that come to bear from this Policy and additional standards and procedures.
- Management shall provide the necessary leadership & resources for the implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of this policy.
- CITRINE shall ensure that all Health, Safety and Environmental risks arising from work activities are identified and adequately controlled.
- CITRINE International shall comply with all applicable legislative and industry requirements pertaining to Health, Safety and the Environment, as a minimum standard. Where such standards do not exist the generation and implementation shall be required to address a specific situation.
- Where our employees are under the direction of our Clients, we cede the health and safety responsibility to our Clients. Our employees shall act in accordance to the Client’s health and safety policies and plans. CITRINE shall audit that the Client complies with the OHS Act as amended.
- CITRINE shall:
- Develop and implement systems for the Management of Health, Safety and the environment.
- Set and monitor clear, Health, Safety and Environmental performance objectives.
- Audit and monitor performance to ensure that the Organization is compliant with its requirements.
- Examine and apply lessons learnt from previous experiences.
- All Personnel are involved in the Process of Safety Management and there must be active engagement to create a constructive platform to solicit this by:
- Implementing effective processes for workforce consultation and interaction.
- Ensuring that personnel are trained and competent to carry out their activities.
- Consulting with our clients, suppliers, professional and legislative bodies to promote continual improvement.
- Working with clients to minimize negative and maximize positive environmental impacts from their operations.
